Giving back to the community
What are my opportunities to donate?
This year, we’ve partnered with SocialOffset to offer AIA24 attendees the opportunity to contribute to local organizations in Washington, D.C. that make a positive difference in people’s lives and the community.
Additionally, attendees have the option to donate to the Architects Foundation during registration. As AIA’s official philanthropic partner, the Architects Foundation inspires and invests in the D.C. community year-round through scholarships and programs, like Communities by Design, that empower architects and community members to transform lives through the power of design.
What is SocialOffset?
SocialOffset is a nonprofit organization that provides a socially conscious alternative to event and destination boycotts. Event attendees and business travelers can offset their environmental impact through donations to local charities that align with their core values.
What are the local D.C. charities I can donate to via SocialOffset?
We worked with SocialOffset to select vetted charities that uphold AIA’s values and support the local D.C. community through housing security, environmental sustainability, and environmental justice.

- Potomac River Conservancy safeguards the lands and waters of the Potomac River and connects people to this national treasure.
- Green America harnesses economic power—the strength of consumers, investors, businesses, and the marketplace—to create a socially just and environmentally sustainable society.
How can I donate?
Visit AIA24’s SocialOffset page to learn more and submit your donation to the charity of your choice. Every dollar counts, and 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes to your designated organization, so please give what you can.
