Mary Ann Schicketanz is the principal of Studio Schicketanz. A native of Austria, Mary Ann brings a European sensibility to the practice of sustainable building and design. She is a leader in the integration of green design principles with strong thematic design concepts. She is known for her designs that offer classic simplicity, natural elegance, efficient floor plans, and easy flow.
Mary Ann has practiced architecture in Germany before immigrating to the US in 1987. Her work is widely published and she frequently speaks on green design principles and the use of sustainable materials.
Mary Ann Schicketanz established her own firm in 2014. She has been an active AIA member since 2009, was board presidnet at local chapter from 2020-2021, restarted the Arts + Architecture speaker series after Jerry Lomax's death and will chair the committee again in 2026.
