Lena Schapen

Lena Schapen, AIA, serves as a Designer and Architect with a focus on community engagement and material research at Ross Barney Architects. In 2023 she was chosen as part of Metropolis's Arch30 Chicago Cohort recognizing emerging talent. She has taught alongside Carol Ross Barney at Illinois Institute of Technology and currently teaches fundamentals of architecture, team-building, and 3D-printing to elementary students. Her work seeks to synthesize design and research to produce projects that positively interact with the environment while also focusing on the community and people in which they serve, no matter the scale.
