This session examines accessibility updates adopted in the 2025 California Building Code (CBC) and 2025 California Residential Code (CRC), effective January 1, 2026, that impact building departments, architectural firms, and design professionals. The content provides an overview of the approved changes to accessibility provisions within the Division of the State Architect (DSA) in Chapter 11B, the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) in Chapter 11A, and California Residential Code (CRC) Section 327. Included are scoping provisions for housing at a place of education, public housing, and live-work units.
