Housing as a Catalyst for Neighborhood Change: Paradise Creek

This combined transit and walking tour will highlight the Paradise Creek catalyst project, a 201-unit, pedestrian-oriented affordable housing development in National City's Westside. Adjacent to a tidal creek in a SANDAG Smart Growth area, the project has helped revitalize the neighborhood, addressing grassroots advocacy for economic and environmental justice.

Join us to explore development challenges, including brownfield remediation, complex soil conditions, funding delays, and more. The tour will also feature a walk to the community park, the project site, and residential spaces along with the perspectives of award-winning design firm PYATOK architecture + urban design and other stakeholders.
