The Volpe Center: Excellence in Federal Design

Additional fee, registration required.

The John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, opened in 2023, brings the entire research wing of the U.S. Department of Transportation under one roof for the first time. Join us for a review of the complexities of the building''s history and architecture. A presentation will highlight the first-of-its-kind exchange agreement between the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and a private developer that made this project possible. Afterwards, you''ll be guided through a new, LEED Platinum certified vertical campus that stitches the Volpe Center together with the surrounding Kendall Square neighborhood.
