This tour will highlight two innovative adaptive reuse projects in Downtown Boston. 40 Water Street, a LEED Gold certified building, features a seven-story, 120,000 sq. ft. addition on top of the 1906 National Shawmut Bank building. The Hyatt Centric transformed the 1914 Newport Building into a boutique hotel, including a 12-story, 26,200 sq. ft. addition with prefabricated facade panels installed in just 13 days.
Both projects showcase a sustainable, forward-thinking approach to adaptive reuse, blending historical preservation, densification, and sustainability to enhance cities and address climate challenges.
