ET122 – History & Tour of the Washington Metro System

Additional fee, registration required.

This exploration of the Washington Metro will begin with a presentation covering the history, design elements, how the design continues to adapt to today's needs, and more. Next, you'll hit downtown Washington, D.C. to tour stations, entrances, and connections that demonstrate the principles of design and how the system functions. You'll also visit a neighborhood created as the result of a new Metro station being added along an existing transit corridor.

Nearly 50 years old, the Metro is the most vital part of the region's transportation system—a driver of growth and a guard against global warming.
