R. Craig Williams FAIA, an attorney and registered architect, is the Chief Legal Officer of HKS Architects, Inc. He was a founder and was the 2013-2014 President of The Jefferson Society, Inc., an organization of attorneys who are also architects. Before joining HKS, Craig was a trial attorney and partner in Fisk & Fielder, PC, a Dallas law firm with a focus in representation of design professionals.. His responsibilities include contract drafting, review, and approval, insurance and risk management issues, employment law matters, and firm management as well corporate compliance with laws in all states and many foreign jurisdictions. Craig has held leadership positions in numerous design, construction, and legal organizations in Texas and nationwide, including The Texas Society of Architects, Dallas/AIA, Dallas Bar Association, and The University of Texas School of Architecture Foundation, is a member of the AIA Risk Management Committee, and he is a frequent author and speaker on topics that intersect design, construction, and law.
