Mimi Love

Principal

Utile Inc.

Mimi Love is a principal at Utile, with expertise ranging from complicated renovation projects to campus master plans. While her experience is broad, she has a particular interest in adaptive reuse projects that have complicated programmatic requirements. She is currently leading a renovation project for Harvard University’s Herbaria building and is the principal-in-charge for Northeastern’s Visitor Center that is currently in design. She led the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion on the Rose Kennedy Greenway and the Richard Ortner Studio Building for Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Mimi helped lead Rethink City Hall for the City of Boston and was the principal-in-charge for the redesign of the Boston City Hall lobby and other pilot projects throughout City Hall.

Mimi led an urban campus master plan for a tech company based in Kendall Square that will eventually occupy close to a million square feet of office space. Several phases of the expansion have been completed, and she is currently overseeing the interior fit-out of 300,000 SF of a new office tower. She was also the design principal for Autodesk’s office expansion at The Innovation and Design Building in Boston’s Seaport District.

Mimi excels as both a great communicator and listener, recognizing the importance of being open to all inputs. She is the co-author of Color Space Style, a reference book on interior design for Rockport Publications. Mimi is a member of the BSA Honors & Awards Committee and currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Beaver Country Day School, where she is the Chair of the Capital Projects Committee. She lives with her husband and family in South Boston.
