Robin Seidel, AIA, is a pioneering architect and urban planner at the forefront of integrating resilience into design and planning. As the Resiliency Team Leader at Weston & Sampson, a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, Robin focuses on addressing climate change while ensuring her projects benefit environmentally disenfranchised populations.
With over eight years of experience supporting the Climate Ready Boston Program, Robin has developed extensive technical expertise in urban resilience, building and infrastructure adaptation, vulnerability assessments, sustainable design, mitigation strategies, transportation, and stakeholder engagement. Her commitment to resilient design was sparked by childhood experience with flooding, which instilled in her a deep understanding of how weather impacts people's lives.
Robin's notable work includes several high-impact projects for the City of Boston, such as Coastal Resilience Solutions for East Boston & Charlestown Phase I, Coastal Resilience Solutions for Downtown & North End, Boston's Hazard Mitigation Plan, and Resilient Design for Lewis Mall and Carlton Wharf. She has also contributed to the Resilient Fort Point Channel project, Resilient Design for Border St. in East Boston, and Interim Flood Protection Strategies for Boston's 2030 Flood Pathways.
As the 2022-2023 Chairperson for the AIA National Resilience and Adaptation Advisory Group, Robin has played a crucial role in shaping the practice of architecture through resiliency. Her expertise and leadership have been recognized by the American Institute of Architects, solidifying her position as a thought leader in the field.
