Karen is passionate about creating transformative public open spaces that address complex urban spaces, climate change and sustainability while staying culturally authentic to their context. She creates imaginative environments that foster connection between people and nature.
Bringing over 23 years of professional experience, Karen is an Associate Partner, registered landscape architect, and urban designer at Field Operations. Karen’s significant projects include Sojourner Truth State Park in Kingston, NY, Hudson River Park’s Gansevoort Peninsula in Manhattan, Cornell Tech’s new campus on Roosevelt Island, and Newark’s Riverfront Park. Within Boston, her projects include Harbor Way, a multi-block open space in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood, 425 Medford Street and 776 Summer Street, all resulting in significant urban transformation.
Karen earned her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
