Founder, Behavioral Strategist, Adjunct Instructor, Speaker, and Thought-Leader!
What does serving people really mean? It's the question I've asked myself and left with others for years!
After 20+ years in leadership roles ranging from supervisory to a tenured directorship, Human Services has taught me that serving people begins with how we think. So, eager to address the gaps that industries found so easy to ignore, I dove in headfirst, packaged decades of service, product, and behavior strategy, and introduced a model provoked by the question, "Whenever we sit down to solve a problem, we should always ask ourselves, what's the human need behind it?" So say hello to Human-Centered Design!
Around 2013, I found myself no longer fitting into the traditional business landscape—in a good way! So, I decided to create the proprietary design consultancy, The Spill Teem®. We're a creative team of facilitators, workshoppers, speakers, and Human-Centered Strategists who partner with organizations to reignite their natural ability to see things in new ways. Founded in the United States and with teams in the United Kingdom, we're covering a lot of innovative ground, helping organizations thrive in the areas of their services, products, and leadership behaviors.
Truly keeping people at the center of problem-solving—how we think, value, and act—has been some of the most impactful work. I get to see powerful SMEs, nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, and government agencies quiet the distracting noise, build forward, and take up more intentional space in this world!
In addition to The Spill Teem®, I sit on several boards, serve as an adjunct at Piedmont Virginia Community College, am a relentless vinyl record 'crate digger' (made up in my head) gourmet chef, and occasionally take a stage or two to deliver dynamic Human-Centered talks and keynotes.
