Principal Gary Johnson, AIA, brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to CambridgeSeven.
Gary Johnson’s versatility as an architect and urban designer has advanced CambridgeSeven’s unparalleled expertise in hotel and residential design. He led CambridgeSeven’s collaborative role in the design of the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, One Dalton, Boston, and applied his adaptive reuse and urban design skill in the repurposing of a mid-century office tower on the New Orleans riverfront to create a bespoke hotel and residence spurring riverfront revitalization. His transformation of the historic Charles Street Jail into the Liberty Hotel in Boston, MA, and the iconic Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA, were also highly successful redevelopment catalysts.
Johnson firmly believes that projects are strengthened by collaboration and he actively supports mentoring future architects and designers in the office. He received an Associates Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT), a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and a Master of Architecture and Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
