Joyce Wheeler, ADAC
Studio Pacifica
Joyce Wheeler, ADAC wears many hats. Prior to leading project management and co-leading the construction observation team as an accessibility specialist at Studio Pacifica, she spent many years working with students with disabilities and athletes in adaptive sports. She is also the mother of a wheelchair user and former Paralympic swimmer.
Joyce has a deep commitment to advocacy for equity and access and can often be found in the field explaining the “why” behind code requirements to project partners. Though her experience as an accessibility specialist spans all sectors of the industry, there is a special place in her heart for K-12 projects. Joyce has consulted for elementary, middle, high schools, and alternative schools for school districts across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
