Since 2016, he has been the Director of Building Performance at the Seattle-based design firm Olson Kundig, where he works closely with project teams across the firm to help imbue the design process with creative questions about building performance and explore how buildings can best support the health and well-being of their occupants. Vikram’s current areas of research include ventilation, building simulation techniques, global carbon reduction techniques and post-occupancy evaluations. Vikram leads the firm’s participation on the AIA 2030 Commitment and helps designers understand sustainability ratings systems such as LEED®, WELL Building and Passivhaus. He also serves on the National AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) advisory council, and recently contributed an essay, “From Survivability to Thrivability: Finding Joy in Passive Design,” to the book Activism in Architecture: Bright Dreams of Passive Energy Design, published by Routledge.
