Kurt is Principal at BRWA, where he has shaped the direction of the firm since 1999. He has over 25 years of experience in planning
and architecture. Kurt has committed his career to community infill projects and strengthening the relationships between private
enterprise and public good. From 2010 to 2018 he served as a member of the Charlottesville Planning Commission during the development of the City of Charlottesville's Comprehensive Plan. At BRWA, Kurt has worked with numerous institutional and nonprofit clients, including The Thomas Jefferson Foundation, Albemarle Housing Improvement Program, Piedmont Housing Alliance, Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, and Hospice of the Piedmont. In 2020, Kurt was recognized with an Honor Award by AIA Central Virginia for embodying the essence of a Citizen Architect.
