Adam Viorel Pantelimon Negrut

Forward-thinking futurist and policy influencer


Adam is a forward-thinking futurist, influencer, and technical–policy advisor specializing in low-carbon construction and resilient community design. He previously served as a director within Alberta’s ministries of Health, Infrastructure, and Seniors & Housing, where he oversaw multi-billion-dollar portfolios and led the development of sustainable regulations, standards, and guidelines that enable architects and planners to design future-ready communities.

He collaborates closely with key stakeholders—including the U.S. National Institute of Building Sciences and other U.S. agencies—to advance policy development and accelerate technological innovation in the building sector. His work focuses on aligning emerging construction technologies with long-term public policy objectives to support climate resilience, affordability, and public well-being.

Adam also served as an expert advisor to the Metropolis International Institute, affiliated with the World Association of the Major Metropolises. In this role, he has led training on environmentally responsible infrastructure, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development for government officials in eight countries.

A Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a founder and former President of AIA Canada, Adam has led award-winning projects, taught internationally, and chaired major international conferences. He holds multiple advanced degrees, and his professional memberships across Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France reflect his global leadership, strategic influence, and lasting impact on the built environment.
