Liza Morris was appointed to serve as Virginia Tech’s Assistant Vice President for Planning and University Architect in March of 2019 after serving as interim in the role beginning in August of 2018. In this role, she provides leadership and guidance in long-range campus planning, architecture, interior design, space planning, and historic preservation, among other functions. Prior to this appointment, Liza served as the associate director for architectural planning at Virginia Tech, and has a career spanning 32 years in private practice and higher education. Liza received her Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Idaho, is a licensed architect in Virginia, and is National Council of Architectural Registration Board Certified.
