Iouyu joined Grimshaw in 2010 and has taken on a leadership role on a host of projects, mainly in the institutional and visitor attraction sectors. Currently, she spearheads the development of the 70 Mulberry Community Center in Lower Manhattan, slated for completion by the end of 2027. With a genuine belief in regenerative design principles, Iouyu strives to push boundaries and foster sustainable solutions.
Iouyu's visitor attraction portfolio includes the Terra Sustainability Pavilion for Expo 2020 Dubai, Disney Tomorrowland in Shanghai, Frost Museum of Science in Miami, Florida, and several concepts for eco-destinations.
Iouyu has also played roles in some of Grimshaw's most high-profile and ambitious undertakings in New York City, including JFK redevelopment, Fulton Center in Lower Manhattan, and the New York University 2031 Strategic Master Plan. Other urban planning projects include the West Kowloon Cultural District Development in Hong Kong and 2 Penn Plaza in New York City.
Before joining Grimshaw, she was a lab designer at Rafael Viñoly Architects and led the vivarium planning for a translational research building in Philadelphia. Additionally, she focused on private residential projects at HO+Hou Studio Architects in Taipei.
Iouyu earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Tunghai University in Taiwan and her Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Design. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Registered Architect in the State of New York.
