Nominated by President Clinton and confirmed by US Senate as 10th Architect of the Capitol (1997 - 2007) and head of the 2,300 person Architect of the Capitol Agency (responsible for design, construction, facilities management and operations for all buildings on Capitol Hill, including the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and office buildings). Served as VP for Architecture, Historic Preservation and construction at Rockefeller Center for prior ten years. Elected a fellow in 2000.
