Javier Arizmendi was born and raised in Mexico City. He earned degrees in Engineering Science and Art History from Dartmouth College and a MArch degree form Harvard Univeristy Graduate School of Design. He joined Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in 1994 where he is currently a Design Principle leading the design of a significant portfolio of projects in various geographical locations and practice areas. His built and active design work is located in North America, Mexico, China, the Middle East and Africa. Javier has been recognized for successfully practicing at a global scale, combining contemporary technical knowledge with and extraordinary diversity of regional traditions to achieve genuinely innovative architecture.
