Elizabeth Meyer, FASLA, University of Virginia School of Architecture. Meyer is a landscape architect with forty years experience studying, designing and advocating for public spaces, cultural landscapes and sites of memory. She is the Peterson Professor at the UVA School of Architecture where she has taught since 1993 serving as Landscape Architecture Department Chair and Dean of the School. In 2023, she was appointed the inaugural Faculty Director of the UVA Morven Sustainability Lab, a 2900 acre farm located on the east side of the SW mountains near Charlottesville. Previously Meyer practiced with EDAW and Hanna/Olin, consulted with MVVA, and taught at Harvard. During Meyer's service on the USCFA (2012-2020), she reviewed projects for the Washington Monument, Smithsonian Museum of African American Culture and History, Pershing Park, the Eisenhower Memorial, the Federal Reserve, the National Zoo, and Georgetown University, as well as numerous public schools and private developments located on major parks and streets. In recognition of her "exemplary achievements in the built environment," Meyer received the National Building Museum’s 2019 Vincent Scully Prize.
