Fueled by high conflict in our civic discourse, empathy is on a national decline. As architects and business leaders in the public realm, what can we do about it? In this interactive session, explore how architectural practices can embrace ‘radical empathy’ to establish inclusive firm cultures and deliver more thoughtful projects that reflect and strengthen their local conditions. Attendees will learn strategies from firm leadership working in multifaceted communities to uncover common ground with clients, staff, collaborators, and the public through the lens of ethics and empathy to benefit a range of issues, from improving daily project management hurdles to establishing firm-wide equity and trust.
