This tour will start at the new Olive Street Park and then pass through two historic canyon-top neighborhoods featuring 100-year-old homes, two-story walk-up apartments, and a growing plethora of new seven- and eight-story mixed-use towers. You'll stop by four of these projects (Kaya, The Bel, 8th & U Apartments, Cayuca) to learn about the people and programs that made them happen. For example, San Diego's progressive, opt-in Complete Communities Housing Solutions program promotes the development of affordable housing near high-frequency transit.
