The frequency of natural disasters has increased across most of the United States. These deeply devastating disasters are different in many ways. However, consistent themes have emerged in the rebuilding efforts that follow.
As architects, we wear many hats—not only designers but also collaborative facilitators, managers, and policy nerds. The skills we hone through these roles place us in pole position to respond following a disaster and support rebuilding.
Join us for this session to explore post-disaster strategies and take part in workgroups using examples from local AIA chapters' response to the 2025 Los Angeles area wildfires.
