Join us for a tour of Rose Creek Village, which will provide 60 units of affordable senior housing in the coastal Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego.
Using both façade- and roof-mounted PVs, this project tackles the challenge of achieving net-zero energy on a tight urban site served by one of the most expensive electric utilities in the country. On-site residential support services and the adjacent Rose Creek Bike Path support the ability of residents to age in place, healthily and affordably.

Learning Objectives
- Discuss state and local affordable housing incentive programs that made the project, located in the Coastal Height Limit Overlay Zone, possible.
- Identify collaborative design approaches by the developer partnership, builder, owner/operator, and design team.
- Examine the project's solar façade detailing and construction, and discuss lessons learned to apply to future projects.
- Discover small moves that can have a big impact on affordable senior housing in urban settings.
