ET118 – A D.C. Synagogue Reborn: The Capital Jewish Museum

Additional fee, registration required.

Having survived two forced relocations in the chaos of D.C.'s fast-changing environment, the historic 1876 Adas Israel Synagogue has not only adapted but also cemented itself as the celebrated, historic centerpiece of Jewish heritage in our nation's capital.

This tour will reveal how the design team navigated approvals and overcame a series of restricting existing conditions to integrate the synagogue into the recently completed, 30,000 sq. ft. Capital Jewish Museum.

You'll learn how the completed design celebrates the restored synagogue while providing state-of-the-art exhibit spaces, collections' storage, and an essential administrative space.
