ET207 – Innovation on the Anacostia: D.C. Water Headquarters

Additional fee, registration required.

The new LEED Platinum D.C. Water Headquarters is the District's latest landmark on the Anacostia Riverfront. The project demonstrates that modern civic architecture can be both beautiful and functional in its pursuit of sustainability. It also reimagines an entirely paved, urban location and an operational water and sewage treatment facility while returning the landscape to a functioning ecosystem.

On this tour, you'll experience the building's state-of-the-art technology, including the first wastewater thermal recovery system installed in the United States, parametric modeling to develop the curved building form and layered curtain wall, and bioretention plantings and a green roof that absorb and filter stormwater.

This is a bus tour.
